What We Do

KoalaKare is a certified NDIS home care provider helping individuals with daily household tasks. We assist with tasks like cooking, cleaning, and outdoor yard maintenance to help build the individual’s skills. Our goal is to supervise and assist with daily tasks to increase the participant’s confidence and independence. Our NDIS service providers allow participants to feel empowered to take on other challenges in their day-to-day routines.

NDIS Service Providers

Each participant has different needs and goals, so we provide a variety of support services. Here is a list of support services for disabilities we offer to our NDIS participants.

Daily Living and Life Skills

Our NDIS support workers assist and supervise participants with their day-to-day activities. While providing support to participants, we help increase their independence and confidence. The goal is to decrease the level of support a participant needs over time by building their life skills. Some activities we help with include:

Help participants maintain personal hygiene like showering and brushing their teeth

Teach participants about nutrition basics when shopping and prepping meals

Show participants how to travel, plan trips, and use different transportation options

Participation in Community Events

Being involved in the community helps participants build relationships and learn about the importance of social skills. Community participation falls under the Core Support category in your NDIS plan. Community activities can be for individuals or groups. We believe attending group activities are vital for participants to learn about certain skills. Some skills participants learn about in group activities are teamwork, being on time, and helping others. We provide disability employment services to individuals seeking jobs.

Transportation Assistance

At KoalaKare, our NDIS providers help participants go to appointments, events, and other commitments. We provide transportation to events or help participants use buses and trains to travel. If participants have their own vehicle, NDIS helps fund vehicle modifications. Vehicle modifications help participants use their own vehicles to travel to appointments and community events. We offer transportation as part of our disability employment services, so participants maintain their job.

Household Tasks

Another support service we provide is assistance with household tasks. We believe everyone deserves to have a clean home to live in. We help participants with cleaning, laundry, and other tasks as part of their day-to-day routine. Home modifications help participants reach their goals of independent living. These modifications include grab rails, widened doorways, or other changes within their home.

Support with Daily Personal Activities

Daily activity support help with completing home tasks a participant struggles with due to their disability. Some tasks we help with include yard maintenance, medication follow-up, cleaning, and overnight assistance. Our support workers provide inactive and active overnight assistance. Inactive overnight assistance is for participants who may or may not need care. Active overnight care helps participants who need constant help throughout the night.

In addition to the list of support services for disabilities, our NDIS providers have different living options for participants. Participants have the option to live by themselves or with other NDIS individuals. There are other options funded by NDIS for temporary living options for vacations or waiting for long-term living buildings to have openings.
